im looking to buy a 3 inch body lift for my 83
its just blocks and bolts.
im goin to buy bumper brackets later
my question is what all will need to be adjusted and lifted to make it all work.?
Anything that crosses from the body to the frame will be affected, the linkages for the tranny, fuel filler hose, steering column, I imagine the brake lines and radiator hoses will have some play in them, but make sure they dont get kinked.
Check your local laws since bumper/ lights height is usually the place where they
measure to see if you are legal. Make sure it is going to measure out before doing
it. Your other option is to cut out the fenders and use some fender flares to give a
finished look.
my wife and i did mine on a weekend the only really hard part was getting all those rusty bolts loose. i had a welder friend of mine build the front bumper bracket for me and i haven't raised the back one yet. the shop here wanted $150 to install it all in all i would do it again if i had to. it's a pretty good job and my helper does not do much other than hand me tools. hopr this helps and good luck
