[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Mar-02 AT 10:19 AM (EST)]hi guys, if it wouldnt be too much trouble i would love if someone would input this on there desktop dyno. this is what i plan on doing--
(Note: the truck has no emmissions stuff on it)
400ci
9.0:1 Dynagear pistons bored .030 over
Melling oil pump
Edelbrock timing chain
rebuilt stock 2v heads
Edelbrock Per. 400 intake, without egr
Holley 600 carb
Edelbrock Victor series water pump
Crane Powermax lifters
Crane Powermax dual patterned cam (can u try both of these im not sure which one)
Duration@.050--204/214 Gr. lift .493"/.502" RPM 1500-4500
Duration@.050--216/228 Gr. lift .524"/.519" RPM 2000-5000
im open to suggestions on what i should do, so any input is greatly appreciated
thank you so much in advance
Gabriel
I'm new to Desk Top Dyno so I might be off. But if you use stock exhaust manifolds it cam out to just under 300 HP and about 360 ft lbs of torque. If you add header it cam out to 350 HP 400 ft lbs of torque. Hopefully someone with a little more practice at this will give you another answeer.
fastcat, thanx for your reply. i do have headers, sorry i forgot to say that! im wondering which cam u used to get those numbers. and also can u give me at what rpm those numbers where reached?
thanx gabriel
The torque peak was at 4000 rpm.The torque line started at about 370 and went up to 400 then dropped off after that. The HP peak was at about 5200 rpm.
shazam thank you in advance for running my info thru the dyno. i dont know if i will be able to answer your question but here goes...
***stock 2v heads
***open chamber or closed chamber heads--(open i think, whatever 351m/400 heads are!)
***as for the cam timing numbers i still do not have the cam...but i plan on getting the crane powermax with the 204 duration. if u really need the timing, i will call summit.
***carb--holley 4 barrel 600cfm vacuum
***Headers to true dual exhaust
***intake is dual plane
***9:1 compression is what my pistons will have, i guess its not 100% sure. so i guess its a guesstamate. i would like to have about 9.2:1....but for now just do it with 9:1
if this info isnt enough, or u have any advice on anything please write me at TeamWizardL7(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
thanx gabriel
