I am considering to replace my 2000 SD 250, V10 with another 250 - V10. I noticed that the 08 model sits about an inch higher in the rear (bed rail to ground) than the 2000, probably partly because of the 17" vs 16" wheels and perhaps a different spring. My 5th-wheel has 59 inch clearance from the ground and on the 2000 the 5ver sits nice and straight. An 08 truck would be OK with just one more inch in height. However, I like to wait for the 09 model but am not sure if Ford will make changes to the rear set-up. When do the specifications for the next model year become available, or when is the last date to factory order an 08 if the 09 has been modified to sit higher than the 08 and my 5th-wheel might not fit straight on the truck anymore? I am assuming that the 09 will have just "cosmetic" changes compared to the 08 since teh 08 has just been introduced, is this a reasonable assumtion?
Thanks,
Myotis

Reason: wording confusing
Kind of what I thought, but I have read about power increases for the 5.4 in the F150 and I wondered if that would cross over to the Super Duties. It is probably all just rumor until Ford announces. Thanks.
Does anyone know if the Sync system with fleet management and DeWalt RFID system will be available in the '09 Superduty? I saw the demo on the 2009 F150 and was impressed by this in-dash computer. I see some nice advantages in keeping track of trucks, tools, etc.
I just searched "2009 super duty" images and found a spy photo of a 2009 crew cab SRW pickup. The only physical changes look like a larger Ford oval in the center of the grille and it kinda looks like the grille is a little different. The truck in the photo is dark red(Dark Toreador-like in appearance) with silver lower accent paint. The article doesn't state any horsepower & torque increases for the engines. Basically, it looks just like the 2008 models. Cool-looking pickup!

I would not expect too many changes for '09, especially when it comes to the height of the rear. Actual specs from Ford on the '09 should be release when the '09 order bank opens.
Last day you can order a '08 is 05/30/08. Remember though, as the last day of order comes closer there is always the possibility that Ford will stop taking orders early on vehicle options that are in high demand or have a commodity shortage.

I remember that truck being discussed here on the forums.
I do give the guy who wrote the article credit for coming here and admitting his error...

If this is a good order date, expected delivery could be late July of early August (8-10 weeks). Does this sound early?
Yes, the day the order bank opens is the first day a order can be submitted.
JOB 1 (the first day of production) for the 09's is not until the later part of July, so dealers will probably not start to see them before mid august. That could vary a little + or - dependant upon when the plant will be given the OK to start shipping.

I think I saw that and it wasn't an 09, it was just an 08 with a snow cover on the grille. Ford Work Solutions will be available on the Super Duty, but I believe you can not get Sync and the Work Solution in dash computer at the same time.

PowerStrokeHD, you beat me to it, thanks for finding the thread.
Are you sure the new ones sit higher? I'm just asking because I know the rear springs on my 02 got tired and were sagging. Maybe you're just riding an inch lower than you were when new.
Thanks everybody for the information. Sorry for the late thank you note, somehow I did not get notified when replies were posted, guess I need to check my profile setings,
