I just bought a Sirius Radio today. It has to be plugged into the cig lighter for power, but the stock light in my truck broke a few years ago so it was taken out. I bought an aftermarket lighter to put in today. Every time I plug it up and try to plug something in to it, it blows the fuse. I guess it's just bad wiring, I don't know. Is there any way I can add new wiring and a new fuse to make this work? I'll do anything that needs to be done I just want to get this radio working.

been asking questions about my 04 v10. Not being nosy I live north of mcalester oklahoma were are you from.
I don't think that was the original cause, since the stock lighter started blowing them a few years ago. I ran a new ground, so I suspect the old ground screwed up somehow.
Fuse only blows because the "hot" 12v run is shorting to ground before going through the load of the circuit. A faulty ground would just have a intermittent on/off issue rather than blowing the fuse.
