Looking at buying a 95 F150. Checked the vin on carfax and it said there are 2 reports. Is anyone willing or have access to request a complete carfax report for me?
Carfax is a paid service. Not trying to preach, but you may not be aware that what you're asking is for someone to steal the service for you (not a good thing to do with your first post here). We'd rather not be known by Carfax as a site that allows this sort of thing. Its only a few bucks, step up to the counter and pay the tab.
I got a Carfax report on my '88 GMC Jimmy. (I purchased my truck new in '88) The report came up with 11 "records found". I figured it should have at least that many as my truck was totaled in 1996 and I bought the salvage from the insurance co. For what's it worth, regarding Carfax, the 11 records found were title transfer from New Mexico to Texas and the rest were emission inspection reports. NO MENTION THAT MY TRUCK WAS TOTALED!!! NO MENTION THAT I NOW HAVE A "SALVAGE TITLE". I fixed my truck and have been driving it daily since the wreck 325,000 miles!
A Carfax report MIGHT be a good place to start but I sure don't trust them to supply all the info they could.
Good Luck
THANK YOU, SHAKESPEARESDAD!!! I've been trying to tell people this ever since Carfax came out, but why would anyone listen to me, a car salesman. Carfax is FAR from perfect; not only does it miss a lot, but there info is often incorrect. All it takes is one person to incorrectly report mileage on a state inspection report, and that vehicle comes up as "ODOMETER DISCREPANCY," when in fact the vehicle's mileage is correct. Carfax can be helpful, but it's not infalable. Have a mechanic/ body shop check ANY vehicle you're looking at for possible signs of previous accident damage. As for the original poster, have a local dealer run the Carfax for you- we buy a subscription that allows us to run them anytime. Surely you know someone locally that can do this for you
