Are you doing the header panel and headlamps as well?

And yes, the bumper brackets are different for the 05-07 bumpers.

Check out this link - it has all the parts for the mod you are talking about and should give you some idea of what needs to be changed.

I knew that one of the site sponsors had a kit for this conversion. I just sent them a message asking if the kit could be ordered with the black bumper and grill from the XL or Sport and the H-D headlights. We'll see what they say...

Has anyone bought the 05 grill and made that work? I know there is a place on ebay that sells a grill like that but is a bit pricey for me.Thanks for the input.

lots of guys have trimmed down the stock grille to make it work.... just tape it off and use a dremel tool to cut it...

you can get them at www.powerstrokeshop.com they are about 170 to 200... depending on what you want... chrome package, XLT, or harley edition..

Yeah, it's cheap enough. Just measure, tape, and cut.

I got a reply from Ben, the kit can be ordered with the black bumper and grill. The Harley headlights bump the price up by about $100. He said that if you are going to paint the grill to match your truck it is better to buy a painted grill and then strip and repaint it. He said the XL grill can't be painted. I've always liked the blacked out front end and I think it would look good with the Dark Shadow Grey I have. I think I will "stimulate the economy" by doing this one....

I'll have to check that one out as I'm not sure how it looks, but I think I'm going to go with the black grill, black bumper, and Harley headlights.
