Hopper
Your statement supports that axle wrap up is a low horsepower problem? WRONG!
Trust me. Flip the rear shackles and ditch the lift blocks and you wont have the problem. Busted drive shafts is also evident of a axle wrap issue.
Read my last post again a little more carefully. I didnt say that axle wrap was not a factor, its just not the only factor. The greater traction from the larger, wider tire as well as the weight of the larger tire takes more torque to spin up to the same speed (not vehicle speed) as a smaller tire. And lets face it, an 89 F150 is not a powerhouse without spending alot of time and money on it, especially with 33's. Broken driveshafts can be caused by lots of things other than axle wrap. Explain to me how axle wrap causes the shaft to break at the cv?

And ad for a lack of torque causing wrap up, that is dead WRONG! the more torque that is applied to an aggressive tire that has alot of traction, the more wrap up will be seen. If the case of alot of torque not causing wrap up, then why would full out drag racers with 1000+hp motors need to run ladder bars and 4 links? To prevent wrap up maybe??????
x2 on removing blocks.
I have a 3" block and hate it b/c of the axle wrap, but I couldn't do a shackle flip without removing my skidplate and 33 gallon gas tank.
If I'm going to remove that big **** gas tank, then I will replace the fuel sending unit while I'm at it, but I don't have $165 extra just to have a working fuel gauge.... also, 33 gallons is a lot of weight.... basically I'll take any excuse not to pull that gas tank.
