I am hooking up an AM-FM radio in my 77 F150 and I need some help identifing wher each speaker wire connects. The radio is a Ford D7AR 19A180AB and the 5 speaker wire colors are pink-green, black-white, orange-green, pink-blue, & white-green. Photos below:
I just went out and checked my part's truck.I got the dash pulled out and I can see all the wiring.Sorry man....no luck.I think the radio is a older style.Just a couple clips for all the radio and speaker wiring.
The radio I have is not original to the truck, since I think it only had an AM radio from the factory. The previous owner spliced this radio into the truck, byt he only had the original dash speaker connected. I'm going to hook up door speakers and a dual voice coil stereo dash speaker.
that's what I had to do when I tried to install an Am/Fm Radio. I just had some extra wire and just made temporary connections with the radio on the floor. Start hooking up speakers to your wires and see what comes out. Do you have to modify your dash with that radio. The Am/Fm radio I had required me to modify the dash bezel and then the ***** didn't fit right. My radio was out of a car.
I'm not sure what Ford this radio came out of, since it was already in the truck when I bought the truck. The previous owner did modify the front dash bezel a little to make it fit. I've decided to install an aftermarket AM-FM-CD player a friend of mine gave me, since I don't even know if the Ford radio works and I know how to hook up the newer radio. When I bought the truck I did turn on the radio and the radio light came on, but there was no sound. The dash speaker was totally shot and the antenna was just about to fall off, so the radio may be fine. Thanks for the input.
