Post bad motor mount?

hey guys, think i have a bad motor mount, im not sure if its fixable. i'll try my best to explain. the mount is for a 351m/400, there is one piece of steel the bolts to the frame, a piece of rubber, then the other piece of steel that bolts to the engine. now holding the 2 pieces of steel is this big heavy duty rivet type bolt with a thick rubber washer or grommet type thing at the head. that washer thing is gone, so i can like twist the steel pieces around in cirles.
do i have to get a new mount? can i just cut the rivet, and run a grade 8 bolt thru there? help me out please. if i need new mounts, whats the best place to get them?
thanx
Gabriel

Get a new mount. You should be able to get them anywhere you get auto parts.

Yes I'd say get new mounts too . and then add some extra beef to it by adding a piece of chain to the driver side of the motor where the power steering pump mounts and around the frame. Get a piece long enough that will loop from the head all the way around and back to the head with about 1" of slack, then add a 4" X 3/8" bolt with big washers on each end in between the motor and the frame to where you can just get the nut started, then tighten with impact till chain is really tight. You'll never break another motor mount with this set-up.

If you happen to have a real Monster 400 like mine you might bend the frame though..

gabriel replace motormounts in pairs. and don't take it to places like canadain tire. i learnt my lesson after 4 h and 140 bucks! yeah you do need new mounts bud. to lift i don't suggest by the oil pan. maybe the harmonic balancer might be better
