im wanting to put a new engine in my 1990 f-350 4x4 truck but dont know if i want to stick with the 351 or go to the 460... i would like some more hp, thats why im considering the 460..kinda new to this stuff just wonderin what u guys thought about it
thanks
the 460 has lots of torque for pulling and hp, but the old ones for sure are gas guzzlers. the 351 is better for city driving due to it uses less gas. if gas wasn't so expsive up here id run a 460 in my ford
right now i have the 351 cleveland and a automatic transmission, when i bought the truck it had 67000 miles on it and now it has 97000 but i have noticed that since i lifted it just keeps losing more and more power thats why i thoguth i bigger engine might help.
thanks for the info
well im jut going off wat everyone was telling em it was but it could b a winsor like i said i new to this stuff but how cold i tell the difference because i looked to see if it said it ne where but i couldnt find it

Duck Hunter, Count the bolts that hold down one of the valve covers. Going from memory (help me out if I'm wrong) 6 bolts is a Windsor, 8 bolts is an 'M'.
You might consider having your engine machinist put a stroker crank into the 351. There's a common and cheap stroker that will get you a 393 using stock rods and 302 pistons. Scat Crankshafts is one source.
For double the money, you can get a 408 stroker kit.
