Can anybody give me step by step instructions on wiring up my own 10k mod? And what size resistor(s) will I need?

some say that it helps, unless loaded, then I have heard people say it actually hurt the mileage. Each truck likes its own things. Try it and find out. Its only about 5 minutes worth of work, and you can remove it in 30 seconds if you dont like it after using it.

no it wont hurt fuel mileage, just a bit more power, you will notice it more when the downpipe is changed out, they can be a bit more tempormental in extreme cold weather when starting sometimes but no real issues.

i also checked for exhaust pipe, i have some 3 inch flex pipe, but no more 3.5, i cant remember what size the cat pipe is on the old body trucks?

wont hurt anything, i dont think sears has the resistors, that is usually a radioshack only item, its up to you, the whole mod takes 10 minutes or less to do. we can still check the front end out tomarrow.

no worries about the mix up, it happens

make sure yuo get these exactly, the bigger wattage dont work right. as for the connectors walmart is the cheapest, go by color, red is the smallest size, you usually have to double the resistor over to get a good crimp, get male and female opposing when you put it on the truck harness so you can remove the resistor and reconnect the truck if you dont want to run it.

you might see some more smoke but its not going to smoke like a freight train, you need a good chip to do that, even with the run of the mill chip these arent freight train motors until the injectors get changed.

pic is blurry but you can see the bend in the resistor end to get a larger crimp surface

and this shows the almost finished product, one male terminal, one female terminal
