sorry dude, things got a bit crazy here this weekend, a very close friend of ours just lost their son, i have been home with the kids so the wife can be with them, if you can hold off till tomarrow night after work i already have everything in the truck you need for the icp mod, resistors, connectors and tools
some say that it helps, unless loaded, then I have heard people say it actually hurt the mileage. Each truck likes its own things. Try it and find out. Its only about 5 minutes worth of work, and you can remove it in 30 seconds if you dont like it after using it.
no it wont hurt fuel mileage, just a bit more power, you will notice it more when the downpipe is changed out, they can be a bit more tempormental in extreme cold weather when starting sometimes but no real issues.
i also checked for exhaust pipe, i have some 3 inch flex pipe, but no more 3.5, i cant remember what size the cat pipe is on the old body trucks?
mine tows better with the icp mod in place, mileage didnt change but power a a bit more noticable, and with my version i notice more power low end then top end. throttle respsonse is much better
ok i might. i understand family is more important . and sorry bout the other night on the phone. i thought you were another joe. a pot head kid. i messed up and put you in with the same name spelling as his. but either way i still want to look at my front end. i might do the mod today cause i found you write up on it and me and dad are headed to sears anyways. will the mod hurt my mileage?
Ok so since i'm only doin the 10k do i need to worry bout guages yet. i'm gonna upgrade to somethin bigger when i get guages. and how much smoke is this gonna make for the street racin punk round here lol
wont hurt anything, i dont think sears has the resistors, that is usually a radioshack only item, its up to you, the whole mod takes 10 minutes or less to do. we can still check the front end out tomarrow.
oh and where the cat is its 3.5 its no biggy in a week or so i think i'm gonna order my stacks. i'm waitin for income tax then i'll probly just get the dp and the kitty delete at the same time
make sure yuo get these exactly, the bigger wattage dont work right. as for the connectors walmart is the cheapest, go by color, red is the smallest size, you usually have to double the resistor over to get a good crimp, get male and female opposing when you put it on the truck harness so you can remove the resistor and reconnect the truck if you dont want to run it.
you might see some more smoke but its not going to smoke like a freight train, you need a good chip to do that, even with the run of the mill chip these arent freight train motors until the injectors get changed.
ok thanx alot joe and i changed the spelling in my phone so i know its you. i put it under coon lol. but if i'm not back on here which 99.9 percent says i will then give me a call after school at like 3:00 ish unless you have to work then you could just stop by after you get off. thanx man! = )
