Vacuum questions
I am working on a 1977 F-150 with a 400, I have run into a tiny problem, and I would be eternally grateful for your help. The truck is for my dad, and in my zeal to fix it up I removed and discarded the stock airbox in favor of a 14 inch round chrome setup. Being more than a little retarded, I thought nothing of the choke and vacuum problems that it would lead to. It has been so long since I took it off that I have no idea where the vacuum lines go. Some of them appear to be disconnected anyway,by the previous owner, and I would like to redo the whole thing. Where can I get a diagram, preferably a big one with lots of detailed pictures and no big words so I can follow it? Drawn in crayon would be nice. Also, with no warm air pickup, how should the carburator be adjusted for cold starts? The truck is heading to Northern Virginia when completed, and it gets fairly cold there in the winter. Any suggestions would be appreciated and keep me from gnashing my teeth in frustration. Thanks.
Chris
PS I am not against getting another stock airbox for it if that would be best, but finding one may be a problem.
I will then reply to you with a diagram.

I agree with franklin. You should try to get the stove box hooked up if you can. My 351M runs much better with it.
As for a diagram that is close, you could try this link:

Look under the technical articles section, you will find a link to a vacuum diagram for a 79, it's not a 77 but it may help you.
Good luck,
