thats right drove around today and got 40mpg. well not in my psd. but i pulled the motorcycle out of the garage for the first time this year, it got up to the mid 40's today and decided it was time to go for a ride. took a while to get it started for the first time getting the carbs primed and everything else. a new starter soilinoid for $96 (i thought gpr's where a ripoff for esentialy a plain soliniod) froze my *** off for about 40 miles today and only burned a gallon of gas.
I want a bike pretty bad, and have for the past few years. This year I am signed up to take the abate safety course next month (first time in years my work schedule has allowed that). I am happier than a blond in a shoe store!
yeah, my sportster is torn apart right now gettin painted. heard some other harleys ridin today and just about wanted to kill someone. im ready to get 50 mpg with my sportster soon.
well no one was envying me today, i rode to work it was a chilly 35 degrees and kinda breezy. i decided to ride to work, (not thinking i was going to be there for about a half hour to take care of a couple things then come home for about an hour and then go back i only live about 5 mins from our shop) well i got tied up and never came back. it was cold enough going there by the time i got there i was wishing that i had just taken the truck well, then comming home at 12:00 at night it was 11 degrees and still breezy, buy the time i pulled in the drivway i stalled the bike cause i couldent pull the cluch all the way in. (dident bring my gloves) got inside and turn the cold watter on running over my hands, it stung and burned i gradualy started turning the hot watter on now i can move my hands again.
Nice, I have been riding my bike the last two days, 60's) It is a nice change but you have to watch those cold mornings, you can cut glass with those suckers.
I'll probably get flamed for this because it's Japanese.... Here is my Bike, Dad's bike in back... Mine 2002 Honda CBR 954RR. Dad's 1993 Honda CBR 1000F. Never done Mileage, and don't really care what it gets... If I'm riding, it's for fun! Whatever it is... Better than truck!!!
dont have to worrie about getting flamed from me about a jap bike, mine is a honda, 82 honda goldwing 1100 insterstate i stripped the front faring and all the other full dress **** other than the saddle bags, but im thinking of going to leather insted of the orrigional fiberglass. the millage is just a plus i love to ride, have riddin my whole life, this is going to be my 3rd summer with this particular bike. not a huge fan of crotch rockets but it dosent matter what you ride as long as your in the wind. my goldwing will keep up with alot of crotch rockets and eat alive most hd's my freinds with harleys will contest to that. of course my bike was manufactured a good 300 lbs heavyer than it is now. 4 cyl horizontally apposed engine 4 carbs great balance air ride suspention, will carve corners better than you would ever expect i am known to scrape engine gards and foot pegs quite often on windy roads. typicly if im gettin on it alot ill get about 30mpg typical crusing with a few hard accels ill get in the 40mpg range. i cant wait for temps to get up high enough to be able to ride without getting cold.
