OK, so I've searched this forum, and the axle form and still can't find an answer in the form of a thread or article. I just bought a 1978 F150 to do a SAS swap with a 9" lift this coming spring on my '92 F150. The truck came with an 8" lift on it (the 78). But my question is actaully kinda simple. What problems do I run into with the trac-bar? On my 78 it just unbolts and is actaully a shock mount too. Any resources for doing this and the steering? Those two things are the only things I'm concerned about. Thanks.
Haven't done the swap, but plenty of people on fullsizebronco.com have.. check out there solid axle swap section. Main thing to worry about is keeping the trac bar and drag link parallel to avoid bumpsteer.

I'm still running through the SAS section on the bronco forum post by post. There seems to be a concencase that you need to get new tie rod ends. Any reason why that is?
I think I have one question that doesn't seem to come up very often. When measuring to put in the coil buckets, ect. what do you use a referance point to keep things true?
Well its roughly 0730, so I'll be going outside in a few after some coffee with a camera to look at that truck closer. And, I was talking about the front trac-bar. We just got side tracked because the rear end of this donor truck has coils in the rear. Honestly I took a brief look last night and the rear end is put together much the same as the front end. He even used the same radius arm brackets as the front. Anyway I'm off, I shall be back a little later. Thanks for the help so far guys.
Is there something huge that I should be really concerned about? I thought I had read most of the big things needed to do on this project, but if you have more insight I would be more then willing to hear it.
The only thing i can say is tht id like to have the bed off that donor truck
Well its not in prefect condition. The passanger side as some good dents. But if you really want it, I'll take some pics. Then make me an offer. Just PM me.
