Another M5OD question

Does anyone know for sure if there is any difference in front to rear dimension between the position of the input shaft for M5OD-R1HD and M5OD-R1? I am particularly interested in knowing whether there is any front to rear differences. Put another way—if I took all the guts out of an M5OD-R1 and put them into an M5OD-R1HD case and installed it to a 4.0 L block, would it fit clutch, fly wheel assembly, etc.? Further, could I take the guts of an M5OD-R1HD and put those into an M5OD-R1 case and then install that to a 2.3 L engine clutch, fly wheel assembly? Would the input shaft fit perfectly or would it be too long or too short? Note—I don’t really want to do this but do want to determine if the front to rear input shaft dimensions and placement within the case are the same for both.
Thanks, Ed

Here is what I do know the pilot bearing snout on the input shaft is about 1 inch longer on a 2.8 engine than a 2.3 lima the splines are the same on the clutch. Found that out when I took out a 2.8 and installed a 2.3 it had a toko Koyo tranny and the bell housing was changed and I had to cut off about an inch in order for the tranny to bolt up. I also know the HD uses a bigger shaft for the cluster gear assembly. My though is no you probably cannot swap guts between an R1 and r1-hd
