My father and I both have the Altmans Easy Latch. We had the opportunity to see Terry Altman demonstrate his latch at the F100 Supernationals a few years ago. Once we saw how good the product was made, installed, and worked, we purchased it. In my opinion, the product is well worth the money.
Joe , I installed the kit and set the old rotary latche's aside ..what a smooth difference,I highly recommend them.
The adustability was way better than the stock unit's , and the added safety will give you increased confidence your doors won't fly open unexpectedly.
I'm just curius if they can be welded / flush-mounted instead of bolting them in 'over' over the corner of the door frame.
So to convert to bear claw/modern latches what are the options?
Is it best to go with a kit like this or is it relatively easy to install a standard 'universal' kit like the hotrod parts places sell?
I'm going to need to look at this soon so any advice would be helpful!
Here is a pic of the Altman's Easy Latch installed in one of our first customers effies. We are currently developing new products for all vehicles and a few new ones for the F-100.
