just wondering if anyone has the number for bosch platinum +4 spark plugs? or if it's even worth it to put them in my 4.9L? also would i be able to run e-3 spark plugs in the 4.9L? thanks.
The only benefit of a platinum plug is how long it lasts. In a vehicle that takes hours to change plugs they might be worth it. In a truck with a 300 that takes 10 minutes they are a waste.
I am runnng Motorcraft platinum plugs in my 4.9. They really don't cost that much more and they hold up a lot better. That engine seems to be hard on copper plugs.
Motorcraft platinums are the exception. I've never had a problem with them, but I question the quality of the plug when they're 25% the cost of the other platinum plugs.
Plugs are funny things. I've always used Autolite or Motorcraft (copper) on Fords and they have always performed better and longer than other brands. My Mopars and Gms seemed to eat up plugs faster than Fords but seemed to like the plats. My Vw only ran well on Bosch copper.
