I'm having a hard time locating the problem with my carb and would appreciate any help.
There is a gas leak that occurrs somewhere in, on, or around the carb which allows the gas to collect in the air cleaning unit (air filter has been removed).
Any ideas on where exactly this is coming from and how I might resolve this problem?
*I'm not too keen on automobile repair so any help would be fantastic
my guess would be that the float is stuck or just finally crapped out. they do this quite regularly. alowing the sediment bowl to overfill and the fluid is coming out the top of the carb. hard to tell without watching it' maybe get a friend to help you and start the truck so you can watch what the carb is doing while its running. if it doesnt do it while running then shut it off and see what happens after the engine is dead. if the float, needle and seat aren't doing their job gas will probably squirt out the top of the carb via the vent pipe that sticks out into the port. sorry i'm not much more help,.
