I have an Excursion. Yes, it has a 7.3. I get about 15 or 16 on the highway, you might do better in a truck. About 13 when I am towing. As far as reliability, no issues with my rig. I am sure that there is somebody out there who has had a bad experience and will swear to you that you should stay away! But they are probably in the minority. The only thing that I am aware of though is that you might want to consider having a spare CPS (camshaft position sensor). When that goes out, your engine dies. Other than that you will probably have some warning that you need to change something.

The over all avg of these trucks is 16mpg with stock tires and good driving habits, Probably, with the 7.3 the toughest truck out there. The other two Dodge & Chevy. get better fuel mileage.

I completely agree with this statement. If fuel milage is all ya want, then the 7.3 is not for you. However, if you want an overall great vehicle, grab it fast before all the good ones are gone!
