I recently had the yoke on the rearend of my 76 F150 bust. I ordered a new one from JBG and when I opened in up I could tell it was going to take a larger U-Joint than my previous one.
My question is this...Are there any U-Joints that will work with this instead of having to ship this back and wait for another one? It would need to have one side small enough to fit the drive shaft and the other side big enough to fit the yoke?
It seems like I have seen somewhere that sell "conversion U-Joints" for this purpose.
Your problem is not uncommon, and you are actually looking for a "combination joint". Not the best solution because they are not as common as "square" joints, so a field repair might be difficult, but these combo joints are not that difficult to find.
Thanks guys. I looked up the part number of the yoke and it is a 1330 and my driveline I know for sure takes a 1310. I should be up and running in no time assuming my local parts store has what I need.
