Hey, I was just wondering but does any of yall know about how much a set of aussie heads would run? Or even better have some that would be willing to sell? I would really like to have a set for my 400 in my truck cause they flow like crazy but im running on a budget here. If ya could, send me some figures or website addresses cause im really wanting a good set and I just need to know the general price range for a set.I am willing to go with the stock heads thats on the motor but if can find a good set for a decent price, I would love that. Thanks for yalls help
ausfordparts.com, $390 a pair for rebuilable cores, checked for cracks.
Tim's your guy if you want heads, new pistons, and any advice for other internals for the 335 series. One stop shopping.
Okay rebuildable cores meanin need the valves and all or just bolt em on and go with it? We want to punch out 500 out of this motor which actually shouldnt be to hard with the correct cam, pistons, roller lifters, 8 stack fuel injection with a 58 mm on each one, custom intake, and few other odds and ends on it plus a nice set of heads which is where the aussie's come in. 390 aint that bad, might need to factor that into my pricing. What is Tim's website?

Rebuildable cores mean they need everything - valves, springs, retainers, rockers, hardened seats (if you want to run unleaded gasoline), valve job, porting (you'll need it if you're trying for 500hp out of the stock 2V heads).
Just my $0.02 - if you want a 500hp roller motor, you might want to start with a Windsor block. Better aftermarket support for the higher HP applications, and as you've noted in your post - any attempt at EFI with the M block requires a custom intake, or at least some adapter plates and alteration of the water passages on your intake and heads.
If you're dead set on the M block (and remember, it wasn't ever provisioned for roller lifters - you'll have to adapt it with a kit), ditch the 2V heads altogether. You'll want some of the earlier 4V heads.
The Aussie heads do not flow much better than the stock heads they just have better chambers. Expect to spend $1,000.00 for rebuilt heads and $1,500.00 for ported (which you will need if you hope to hit 500hp), $2,000.00 for aluminum.
Getting 500 hp out of this motor is going to take some $$$. Gettting over 1hp per cubic inch gets expensive. If you get 380hp you should be happy. I assume that you are building for some form of competition since you need 500hp, money may not be a realy issue.
No not building it for competition, just want a hoss of a street/strip truck. Plus have a friend who has the 2004 gto and thinks he is the baddest thing rolling around on the street, which is good cause makes me and my bud more determined to suck the paint off if his car. Yea we definely going with the custom intake, which is going to be the longest part on building the motor. Said it should take him around 3 to 4 months to build it correctly. We are also planning on running 8 58 mm throttle bodies on the 8 stack so that should help a good bit. We are going to yank the heads thats on the motor here soon and see if they are quench style heads, hope they are cause that we can work with. Ok, so to go wit theh roller rockers and lifters need a kit to adapt them to the motor? Havent heard of that one... but o well. Where can I find some info on these kits?
