Just a quick question. How hard is it, and how much would it run me to replace my ring gear on a 360FE? Its gotten bad enough to where its eating my starter drives, last drive lasted about 3 weeks, and now im back to no start. Truck runs good, I've taken it out a few times just by push starting it. BTW, yes its a 4 speed, 4wd. I'm just wondering how long it should take me, and what I'm looking at in cost, I'd like to get it done somewhat soon, as this one is my mud/mountains truck, and really sees a ton of use during the summer...I'd hate to have a summer without it.
Go to your favorite parts house and get a new or remain flywheel, might want a new clutch too since you gotta separate everything in there to get to it. Upgrade it all at once.

Ford still sells the ring gear (C5AZ-6384-A-184 teeth), it has a list price of $82.02. After the new ring gear is installed, the next step is re-surface the flywheel.
If it's warped (has heat aka blue spots), re-surfacing it is a waste of time and money. Once warped, it's history.
It's prolly cheaper overall to replace the flywheel and related clutch parts, as John recommended. above.
