45 days since studs installed

Well, it's been about a month and a half since I had the head studs installed and since then I have run Spartan's Ultra Comp and Hybrid Race hard and no signs of puking to this day. Truck has run great and smooth. Wonderful mod and I have never slept better .

Thanks to you FTE and all its awesome members because I would never have known about any of this without ya'll.

I gave the tech a disposable camera since I couldn't make it to the dealership to take pictures. The pics are in the gallery, not the best quality but better than nothing.

Ford Just Does Not Get It!

Your experience is the reason I want to get studs in my X. I don't drive it hard or have puking issues in 61,000 miles. With studs I would probably have a bullet proof 6.0.

Just think of the money and PR Ford would have saved by putting studs in the original 6.0 design. They would have had some really happy campers vice the disappointed customers they now have. They could have buried the stud cost in the almost $8,000 we all paid for the diesel option and we could have cared less. All us 6.0 owners want is a good reliable engine design.

What is amazing is Ford did not learn from the 6.0 head bolt experience. The 6.4 has head bolts. However, I have not heard about any similar HG issues with the 6.4.

Ford is definitely a penny wise and a dollar foolish!

The 6.4 uses larger head bolts than the 6.0 (M16 vs M14). They are also shorter as the head bolts on the 6.4 does not retain the rocker carrier like the 6.0. Makes all the difference.

Uh.. You need a different file

I've got UC and HR and I run them harder than any fool here.. Ask Matt LMAO.. I like to break things.. Intentionally However I'm not Studded and neither of those 2 files will puke.. No matter how hard I slam the throttle around..

Move up to a bigger file.. I know one you can try.. It emptied my bottle in the first run! LOL

Whats this bigger file? You have me intrigued. I'm not ready to break anything quite yet. I'm saving that until college is over and I start making some real money...

LOL... Call Eric @ Innovative Diesel and tell him you want the Street Aggressive file Tell him to hook yah up on a Solo File from Storm..

I tell you, that file gave me a MASSIVE chubby.. Until I saw my degas bottle empty and it all over my hood It's a DAMN nice file.. Boost pulls you into the seat in every gear.. It really HAULS rear.. Safe for Studs.. Its a next up from a Non-Studded file..

I'll have to check it out. I just bought a Dashdaq last so it's time to start saving some money but I will give him a call. I'm still waiting on Matt to send me some new files, the last ones didn't shift very well. Mention me next time you talk to him, I think I've called him too much the past couple of weeks.
