08 front end conversion on '99

I have no idea on cost. Ive always got the cheap body panels from ebay, salvage yards, and bodyshops who get good deals on parts. Definately not from the dealer. You could probably buy 2 new trucks for the price of dealer parts.

I think the new tailgate fits. I have seen a 04 running around with a new gate, with the big ugly oval in the center. I dont think that the 08 is a ground up design, seems to many parts interchange. Not all a bad thing....

I know the taillights and tailgate are both interchangeable, you need a different hinge on the drive side though, they open a little different, easy to do. Will still out 1/6 or so from the rest of the truck though, and if you swap taillights with it a doubt you'll even notice.
From what I heard the 08's are not all now, a lot does interchange like someone posted before, I had hear that 2010 I think it is if i recall correctly they are doing a whole new design...not interchangeable like the 99-2008...thats just what I read in a post a few months back..
