They were supposed to make us feel like we were there, but ended up making us glad we weren't.
That's the best way I've heard it put, yet.
As for his show....I'd like to see them spend a whole episode with Al. I'd be curious to see how he creates the frame that in the end holds the rake just right.

I agree Havi, but I dont think it would ever happen. The folks that put on that reality junk dont like it when they just build the cars and do their work. There aint enough fighting!! I love the shows where they just work on stuff. Have you caught the tv show Gearz? It has Stacey David as the host. He was the guy from Trucks a few years ago, and he DOES all his own work on the show. He's also a very nice guy. I met him!
I've said it on here before, and I'll say it again. watching Stacey David on tv, is fun, cuz he always brings excitement to whatever he is doing. I mean, his eyes light up just by opening a box of parts, lol.
As for Al.....he just does his job, no drama in that guy, lol.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Thats bad news in anyones book. The man was a legend in the car building trade. He will be missed by many. I enjoyed his television show just to see his creations, not his behavior. The show allowed us car guys to see how some high dollar cars were built.RIP Boyd
first thing that came to mind was that he had suffered an illness from all of the auto paint and chemicals that he must have inhaled over all of those years, that stuff is very toxic, just what i thought though. sad news.
