When you change the plugs is a good opportunity. I put a thick coating of dielectric grease (which is mostly silicon) around the lip on the rubber boot that meets the head surface up at the top of the plug well. Clean that off and remove as much dirt and grease as possible, then insert the COP down onto the plug and rotate it back and forth to distribute the grease around the lip seal of the boot. I use a flashlight and mirror to ensure that I the grease squeezes out and is sealing the lip. No water will get down there for sure.
