Truck has A4LD tranny w/256k on it. I just took it on a 1400 mile trip and it ran fine. A week after I came home my son said the transmission was slipping. We changed the oil and filter, but no difference. If I start out in 1,2, or D then shift into OD once up to speed, everything is fine. But, if I try to start in OD, transmission slips and engine races. It will eventually get up to speed if I baby it. Reverse works fine. I put in a new pump and separator plate about 18k ago.
This Ranger does not have a switch for OD, there is an OD position on the gear selector. Starting out in D, the truck runs great. I can put it in OD after it is up to speed. If I start out in OD, the engine revs up and the truck accelerates very slowly.
