Transmission Rough Shifting when cold
BTW welcome to the forums
Seeing as how this is a new vehicle & likely still under warranty, I'd make this Fords problem.
You paid BIG bucks for that bumper-to-bumper warranty, in the vehicles purchase price, so now is the time to make good use of it & get this problem documented.
Just in case there are related problems down the road, you can show a documented pre-existing condition.
I've had similiar sounding problems on both my 99 Rangers 5R55E & 94 Taurus AXODE trannies & both seemed to have been deposit related, which I doubt yours is.
So let the Dealer unravel this problem.
Just some thoughts to ponder.
Only issue with taking it to the Ford dealer is I am out of a truck for 1 1/2 days as it would have to sit overnight as that seems to be the only time it happens. I had already brought it in and they just topped it up with more transmission fluid, which I can't figure out as it is practically new with no heavy hauling. I had read of simular issues with Ford transmissions and thought it may just be a 'trait' when they are cold.
Looks like back to the dealership I go...
Make friends with & talk to your Dealers Service Manager, bet he'll arrange something.
Let us know how it goes & what they find.

I too had serious problems with my then new, special order 99 Ranger, such that the Dealer/Factory said replace the engine with a new factory crate motor, one month after delivery.
Then a month & a half after that, the new engine suddenly developed a coolant sipping problem, so they decided to replace the head gaskets & that didn't do it, so they replaced the heads on that new replacement engine.
That didn't do it, so they replaced the head gaskets again, still under warranty, in 02, with "Revised" head gaskets & to date that seems to have FINALLY fixed the problem. lol
Why all the detail, point is my Dealer & the Engine Factory, that was footing the repair bills, stepped up to the plate, they never balked or tried to run away from my problems & as long as they were working the problem/s, I just decided to bite my lip & try to be patient & work with them.
It took a while to unravel the coolant sipping problem, (from 99 to 02) but they finally ran it down & put it all right & without hesitation or resistance!!!!
EVERY Dealer has a Service Department for a reason, enven Toyota!!!!
You don't think they have problems, if you go to make a service appointment, you don't see their Techs sitting around like the Maytag repairman, with nothing to do!!!!
Locally it'll require a 4-5 day wait for service @ the local Toyota Dealer.
Had a guy at work with a nice brand new, top of the line 4X4 Tacoma, who's engine blew BAD, shortly after Delivery, lots of damage!!!!
The danged local Toyota Dealer & Factory gave him plenty of grief on repair, such that he had to hire counsel & threaten legal action, to get them reluctenty moving to fix it, which they finally did months later.
Point is, every Manufacturer has problems now & then, some step up to the plate & work the problems without hesitation, some don't, just bite our tongue & try to work with them, if that doesn't get results, then break out the Legal Hammer & use it!!!! lol
