Preferrably solder and shrink-wrap the connection...."scotch-locks" are a sure way to end up with high resistance and corrosion problems down the line.
I have never had that problem ,, but now that you have mentioned it, i am sure it will start....
So all you do is 'T' the switch ( ground ) wire to the TC lock-up wire ( purple/yellow) and shrink-wrap the 'T' connection, then ground off the switch. Sounds simple enough.
Ok good luck and have patience because it is a small area to work. Also check out the these instructions: http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/tclock.html. The wiring diagrams are not right though.
What differences did you see in Guzzle's truck vs yours?
Guzzle did it to where the OD light doen't blink when you have it on. The blink indicates the pcm trying to unlock the tc. Other then that I would think its the same.
The only difference in the Guzzle truck vs mine is that the OD light on the shifter blinks on my truck when the PCM is attempting to unlock the TC. As soon as you shut off the TC lock switch and allow the trans to shift, the light will stop blinking. The OD light blink must have bothered the Guzzle truck owner. The light blink does not bother me, even during nighttime driving. I would try it the easier way first and if that OD light blinking bothers you, then you could build a Guzzle box and install it.
