89 460 Efi ?
I just rebuilt my 460 and got the truck running and it's in time. But when you start it up is runs for about 5 seconds and quits. it does that for a few more times then it starts to idle ok. The idle is a little rough, like it goes up to 2000rpms to 500 and back up to 2000(thats kind of an example). When you give it gas it coughs in a way and revs up thens backfire/puffs, sounds like it's out of time. But to me is sounds like it's running out of fuel. I am going to run a fuel pressure test tonite to see what I have going on there. I haven't got the exhaust done yet but the old down pipes and converter in on it to run and it smells bad, the phumes will burn your eyes. Kinda seems to me it's running lean. Would the fuel pump on the side of the frame under the cab be bad, i know it running, or the fuel filter may be blocking it from being plugged.
