Has anyone out there lifted their 4X4 EX. with a F-250/350 lift? What is the difference is it just the spring rate? I would think it work just fine since I have F-350 spring on my EX.. I just want to be sure before I spend the money.
Stewart_H has, I am going to in the srpring, just waiting for tax money to roll in. I heard it makes a world of difference. I also tow a 32 Ft TT. So that is the main reason. Stiffens up the susp while giving a slight lift.

I worded my question poorly. I already have F-350 springs in my Excursion and would like to go up 6 or 8”. There is a lot more choices out there for F-250/350 than the Excursion how do the lifts differ?
dizzy quality, performance and use is the difference. Depenidng on use will really matter. Also you may want to go to a csutom guy if needed. 6 is good 8 is big and will require you to upgrade gearsa if you have 373 because 35's would be to small for an 8inch lift. You would want 37's and that requires biggter gears.
oh sorry, I may have read wrong also, selective reading I guess, But i would be carefuel lifting the ex too high, ihave heard alot about driveline vibration at around 4" and up. Do some research, some have had to add a rear cv joint. Thats why I think I am going to stay with the f 250 spring swap. Good luck in your search.
wylecoyote is right about the vibration. But with the correct person installing that can be an easy fix. Angle becomes an issue at 6inches and above it is a little more work. Gotta say thought I have seen a few X's with 8-10 inches with big as_ tires and it looked awesome. I like mine at 6inches w 35's. Dont think I will ever go bigger. More to worry about and it is my daily driver. Maybe someday if I get a differetn daily driver I might. Keep us posted oin what you plan on doing.

Thanks, Chris
Most companies out there use the same lift.....just call it a different height since the X sits lower from the factory.
For example, Icon Vehicle Dynamics have a 4" spring lift for the Super Duty, those same springs are what are in the X 5" spring lift (they end up at the same height....but since the X is lower from the factory it gains more lift from stock).
I know the Superlift 4" SD lift is their X 6" lift, etc..
For ride quality I would recommend Icon Vehicle Dynamics (formerly known as Donahoe Racing).
Things to keep in mind.....the X's have more weight over the rear end at ride height empty and as mentioned driveline issues.
Driveline issues can easily be solved by getting custom driveshafts when you go higher up.
X's are heavier in the rear....so the lifts will generally be slightly different to lift the rear.
Park an X and a SD side by side from the factory....the X is lower.
Install the same springs on each one in the front and they are the same height. So the SD is called a 4" or 6" while they call the X a 5" or a 7".
Now, if you are looking at a hanger and shackle kit....they lift the X 4.5" and the SD 4.5" since it's a fixed mount and the X is still lower than the SD due to the factory springs.
