I started a thread on this a week or two ago but no one replied to it... Horsepower did a dyno one with a spacer and one without a spacer. The one with the spacer got like 18 extra horses and I fergot what the torque was.
i HAVE A 2004 FX4 SCREW F-150 I JUST INSTALLED THE AIRAID CAI AND A POWERAID TBS SO FAR I NOTICED no more hesitation on driving and the throttle is a lot more responsive ,more passing power the true test will be my upcoming 5 hour drive to work up in the oilsands Ill notice if there is a mpg gain or not . the kits were very easy to install and it looks very sharp under the hood better than the stock air intake as far as estetics go
all these people who say their friends are installing spacers and seeing an improvement need to find out what engine they are installing them on. They were originally designed for the TBI engines and yes they did help with atomization of fuel due to increased intake runner length and less intake air turbulence but ford never used a TBI system. With the MPFI which ford has used forever (it seems) all you are doing is increasing the intake runner length. for the most part ford uses a long runner length anyway so you probably won't see a noticeable gain. feel free to flame me. but those companies are marketing to the ignorant so much that people feel their claims are law.
Well I guess I wasted money according to your guys testimonials , I will find out today on my frive to the Oilsands and ill report back my findings when I can
