Display is so dim with lights on
I'm sure you guys have noticed. I can barely see the electronic display during the day when I have my lights on. I like driving with my lights on during the day for safety. Anyway it's real annoying. Is there a way to not dim the display when the lights are on?

Here's the relevant section from page 81 of the SD owners manual
Daytime running lamps (DRL) (if equipped)
Turns the headlamps on with a reduced output.
To activate:
• the ignition must be in the ON position,
• the headlamp control is in the OFF or parking lamp position and
• the parking brake must be disengaged.
Always remember to turn on your headlamps at dusk or during
inclement weather. The Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) system
does not activate the tail lamps and generally may not provide
adequate lighting during these conditions. Failure to activate your
headlamps under these conditions may result in a collision.

So I guess thats just the way it is. Maybe you guys with DRL don't have this problem because when the DRL activates it only turns the lights on and does not do anything with the information center lighting, dash lights or instrument panel lights. If you guys manually turn your lights on during the day you will see what I mean.

I also find the diming very annoying. Also sunglasses will wipe out all of the displays. If you do a search on dash lights there is a post that says you can disable the dimming by unplugging a relay on the right side of the dash. It shows a picture of the right one to unplug. I printed the photo and am going to ask the dealer to unplug it the next time I get the oil changed.
