Need a head

I recently bought a truck for the motor, trans and rear axle. I was going to put it in anther truck. Anyways, turns out that the head is cracked and i need another one. The mechine shop says it gona be 600 for another head and 425 to repair the other one (need new exaught valves and gudes). I was wondering if there's a possability i can get one cheaper anywhere else. The motor not worth it to me if its gona coast me a grand to fix.

sorry its the 6.9l and i live in windsor ca (about hour and a half north of san fran)

where are you located john... there is a place in Siler City north carolina that quoted me a remanned magnafluxed head for $ 215.... Marsh Truck Salvage (or Truck Parts ) i cant remember which

i just bought one for a 7.3 off ebay from a diesel shop in texas it was a reman i think it was about $325 with shipping and it got here in less than a week i live in northern missouri.
