fuel filter
02 explorer i checked all around underneath the driverside by the front underneath the front door in the fram and by the first cross member by the tranny cant find fuel filter anywhere?

well your in for a challenge. its under the passenger side front door area. there is a small triangular area about 8 inches by 8 inches with a tin cover over it. I think it is blocked by the drive shaft on one side, exhaust on another and running board on the outside. after taking the tin cover off, the filter is UP about 4-5 inches. if you got 3 hands with 6 fingers on each and they are pencil thin, you wont have much problem. If your more normal, good luck. You know you push the fittings toward the filter, using the small clip release tool, then slide the fitting off the filter. THere is not much room to get up there with two hands to do that. Took me an hour to get it off, 5 minutes to reinstall.

Why is everything backwards on these newer 02'up explorers? Gas filler, exhaust pipe and fuel filter are all on the opposite side.
The fuel filler on the passenger side is what really gripes me. Just stupid IMO.
