hi guys im looking to put some new brake pads on my cub cadet and im looking to just buy a flat sheet of (brake padding) and glue it on myself to save money. so has anyone ever done this and where do i get the lining and what glue to use? thanks
For one thing, it is probably not glued on, it is bonded on (epoxy, heat, pressure). Second, you can find parts for these cheap on E-Bay and local yard sales. Last one I worked on the owner had found new deck belts for $1 each.
Try E-Bay's WANT IT NOW if you can't find what you want listed for cheap.
I have no idea what they cost, what are we talking, $20 new? I see used ones for $5-$10 on E-bay. Personally with the holes that I see and how the pads mount, I would go to Northern Tools and see what I could match up for a go cart even if it meant drilling a hole here or there.
Go to a big truck mechanic and get an old brake shoe and you would have the material
for quite a few brake jobs from one used shoe!! Get that titanium epoxy and use that
it is the only stuff I can think that would hold up to the demands.
