42-47 window runs

A couple of questions:

How do the lower felt run strips come out of the door? These are the straight vertical pieces that have a spring clip at the bottom. But what's a the top? Maybe a clip like the anti-rattle strips have?

Second: I'm looking for exploded parts diagrams for the cab, covering door details, how body pieces bolt together, how cab fits onto frame, wood wedge positions etc.

I have the Chassis Parts and Accessories catalog but it's no more useful than my repro-shop manual. I'm considering buying the 44-52 Ford Body Parts Catalog for pass. cars and trucks. Would this give me what I want?

Thanks

Peter

Windows and Body

The felt runs, I think, have a small clip at the top of the run. I removed mine about 3 months ago and didn't pay great attention, however I remember using a small flat-head to pry (pop) the top clip. I have new ones in the box and I will look tomorrow to help both our memories.

I have some picks of mounting the body, and the wood mounts at http://www.computerliterates.com/47Ford I apologize in advance as I left the picts big (slow download) but OK to copy and blow up for details. I just finished cutting and buffing the doors and will be putting the door hardware back together this weekend..

Thanks John. I'm impressed with the work you've done on your truck. Mine is more stock - in fact, totally stock. I bought it around 1990 and didn't touch it for a few years. I had a burst of activity about five years ago and re-built the engine, transmission, brakes, etc.. I've even re-upholstered the seat. I then got distracted with another project for three years. Anyway, all that remains is the body work. There's next to no rust (except door bottoms) and all the pieces are straight and complete. I got rid of the box and will replace it with a stake bed. I plan to paint it the original green/cream.

I've discovered how the lower window runner comes out - very simply by tugging it upwards with pliers. The top end is secured by a flat tab that has two notches that hold it inside the door channel. I just didn't know what I was looking for. Easy when you know how!
