try a search for Mordrop. They may help. I'm not a fan of monos, but I believe Posies makes a two spring setup similar to monos. Anyway, that's some big letters ya got there.....kinda like yer shouting, lol.
Monos are a personal choice for me because where I drive, there's a lot of potholes and frost upheavals. When that spring breaks there's nothing else there to hold that rear in place. I'm going with reverse eye mains with every other leaf removed. I may need a mild C-notch. Others may chime in with their thoughts.
Do a search on mono's, not just here but on the web. Done right, they can be OK, but take a look at this and ask yourself, where would Bobby be if he'd had mono's?
There's a bunch of spring options. My experience has been that folks with Trucks that don't haul are OK with Monos while the folks that do haul stuff don't care for them.
Speakin Of ..... Is Bobby back on the road with his Joseph Multi-colored '49 ???
-hades i lost a truck { semi } in one of them potholes up there around havi once .... still haven't found the thing and this was darn near 16 years ago !!!!!! i dont like mono's they look to flimsy . im gonna pull every other leaf out to lower mine a little but keep it up just enough to negotiate our crappy roads here as i drive mine daily .
Drop axles are very easy to install, I just put one in my 55 last week with disc brakes, however, a few years ago I rebuilt the entire front end including king pins so everything came apart easily. I just took out the old axle bolted up the new one then transfer everything to the drop axle I don't know how it will ride I still have some work to do. If you look in my gallery in the frame swap I have a couple of pictures. You will need tie rod extenders.
As I understand it the Drag Link needs to be modified because it will drag the tie rod on a lowered I-Beam Axle. I want to install one on my 51F1 this summer, there is a company in Arizona that modifies the stock I beam 31/2" for around $450.00. It takes 4 weeks turn around time.
