This thread is old and kind of went off course about dovetailing the front. I never thought about doing it to my truck until I saw hav24wheel's truck. I got inspired and did some goofing around on photobucket.

I can't agree more. I have a D60 kingpin that is missing the drivers side spindle and brake mount. I'm also working on buying a 91 F350 4x4 crewcab from a transmission shop that the customer abandoned. I also found somebody who has a NP203 for $100, that will work great with the 205 sitting in my parts pile.
80-86 + ground hawgs=win to me. please just stick to the goofing around on photobucket, because these trucks are just way too f.ing cool looking to be dovetailed, unless you really must
I probably will never get the time to do it. I'm a delivery driver and there's times where I have lots of drive time to think up all kinds of goofy ideas.
It's probably best I never do a dovetail. I get sidetracked very easily and start new projects without finishing my last ones. My Ford just sits now and makes other things look small. I think I lifted it a bit too much. Thinking of lowering it and cutting my fenders....
That's what I'm doing to mine, 4 inches in the rear and 2.5-3 in the front. Than smooth out the trans, and tcase crossmembers so they don't hamg below the frame anymore. My mew superflex coul springs should be here today
Yes yes, I built mine that tall when I was younger, it was my first lift I ever did (hence the stacked blocks and shackle reversal) now that I have been wheelin for some time, its just a tad too tall, it has always been able to fit in a 8 ft garage door, and now with the 44s its wider than tall, when I'm done lowering it, it will be a lot wider than tall, side hilling will not be a issue.
Edit: 8 inches of suspension lift in the back. And 6 in the front really isn't a lot. But I'm droppin it to 4 in the back and 3 to 3.5 in the front.
one day people will listen to me and stop building trucks so tall. Low and stable FTMFW!
speaking of that, is dillin still alive? haven't heard from him in a while. i know he got a job, but he is out of school now, figured he would be making some progress
