Fuel leak!!! HELP

I have a fuel leak and I can't seem to get it fixed. The fueld is leaking from the top of the water/fuel separator unit. It is leaking from the connection where the square black connector is on top. I believe this is the water sensor but am not sure and don't knowhow to remove it. It is actually leaking up through the middle of the connector. Any help in fixing this will be greatly appreciated!

that conector is on a rubber o ring pressed from the inside of the stand you have to remove the stand and when you flip it over there is a ?brass fitting that you have to remove to get that plate off and then you should be able to remove the conector and change the o ring. Iv never done it but thats how it was explained to me and i think ford sells a seal service kit for it because i think there are a couple of other seals in it that you should probably replace if you take it apart. hope that helps.

Thanks!! I'll get it apart and take a look. From what we could see with it on the truck there was no way to get inside. Guess I'll have to tear it down and check it out. Thanks again! This is a great website with great people!

i had the same problem with mine as it was the actual cap that had a crack in the center of it . i used some "Seal All" from walmart on the top of it and its been holding ever since ( jb weld will do in a pinch but it eventually weakens and a bubble forms that will burst)....

The sensor? is leaking from the inside by the contact point. I called the Ford dealer today and the part is almost $160. It is the fuel pre heater. This may be part of my hard starting problem as well.

no you cant just disconnectit as fuel is behind the cap hence the leak ( thats what i thought as well) so you either have to replace the entire assembly or use something to seal the CRACKED cap with . i used Seal All because its gas/oil resistant and so far its been holding great... now when you seal the cap and if it leaks from under the cap( not from the top where the crack is) then you'll have to use the o-ring fix as suggested in the above reply...
