2000 Expedition that I has sitting for the first two months of the winter is running awful after I got it started.. I took it to advance auto to scan and got a code "Air\Fuel metering valve" and "Bank 1 to lean" I was told this was a Dealer part and to call the dealership. Did that and they had no idea what I was talking about. My father told me to disconnect one of the leads to the injectors while it was running to see if I noticed any difference. I disconnected the passanger side front lead and no difference. nI disconnected all of the leads on the left side and still no difference. What do I start with here?
The first was P1131 regarding the manufacturer air fuel metering valve and if I remember correctly the the second was P0171 Bank 1 too lean. I did put fresh gas in it with octane booster and fuel injector cleaner in it. Is there a way to get the moisture out?
Try cleaning the MAF sensor. While doing that, make sure your air filter isn't clogged. After cleaning the sensor, clear your codes and start the engine to see if it runs smoother.
Pull the negative cable and wait about three minutes. Use an electronic cleaner to clean the MAF. Becareful, its easily damaged. Note its orientation before you remove it.
