I am installing an aftermarket stereo in my new f-150 the plug on the new stereo only has 4 wires red(12v to key +) black(ground) yellow(memory 12v) on the stock plug which wires do i need to connect to these wires
get yourself an installation pigtail. your stereo should have alot more wires than that. there should be white, white/black, purple, purple/black, green, green/black, grey, grey/black, blue, orange, and brown. an aftermarket stereo kit will have everything you need to put your radio in. if your stereo only has those wires, it's missing another pigtail.
all right, well you asked a question about you installing the stereo so i was trying to help you out. you should install it yourself, you'll save alot of money and it takes about 20 minutes.
yeah i know..ive installed them before..but ive been sick for the last couple weeks and dont really need to be out in the truck workin at night, i may do it myself
definitely solder all your connections, and you can do 3/4 to 7/8s of the work inside your warm cozy home. you can do all the soldering of the pigtails inside, and then all you have to do is unsnap the bezel, pull your old stereo out, unplug the harness, plug the new harness in and slide your stereo in, and snap the bezel back on.
