I run the baumann TCS and it is a good unit, zero complaints. It also seems to be the lowest cost unit available. Other systems in your truck are PCM integrated though, so do your homework on how to integrate the TCS before puting your money down.
Baumann also sells a shift kit, and I got that at the same time. It also works well, but all things considering, it seems to be overpriced, frankly all you need is the paper manual to put the shift kit in. 3 check ***** were removed, a spring added, and an extra orifice hole added for the minimum mod. The kit is also more precise how you can adjust the shift profile of the transmission. It claims 5 different firmness levels for each shift, I left everything at level 1.
I got a transGo shift kit later on because I needed the boost valve that comes with the kit. The transGo gets you MUCH more bang for buck and the replacement steel valves alone are worth the cost of the kit (my favorite store had it for $40 instead of $120 + shipping for the baumann kit). The spiral overdrive shap ring is also in the kit if you are worried about that. I believe the TransGo kit offers 3 different shift levels.
I should mention that I am technically running the baumann shift kit, all I used from the transgo kit was the steel valves, so I can't comment on how well the transgo kit would work.
the one kit with more benefit than any other is the pump modification kit
superior transmission ,its called a code 62 kit
in the older e4od,s the two biggest problems were torque converter clutch slippage and low lube circuit pressure melting planetaries , the kit corrects both issues
but you must remove the pump for it

Same for the boost valve, but well worth the trouble. I believe the TransGo kit had a replacement valve for the TCC valve as well. You could get a replacement aftermarket rebuilt pump with all the proper upgrades, but now its getting a little pricy.
I went by a local trans shop to get the trans go shift kit today and after talking to the guy that realy knew his stuff and telling him what I was trying to he took and put the trans go kit back on the shelf, he said it would snap my neck. so i ended up getting a sonnex line pressure modulator kit, a superior solutions shift correction package. an accumulator spring fix kit and a sonnax boost valve and sleeve kit. And if it doesn't give me the result I'm after I'll pull out the accumulater fix kit and drill the acculator body.
what tools will I need to get the accumulator body down? I'm thinking it would be held up by torx bolts.
If I remember right, the solenoid body is bolted in with torx bolts (don't know the size), and the rest of the valve body with 8 mm hex cap bolts with each section having a 10 mm nut.
The accumulator body is the forward most section of the valve body. If that is all you need to drop, than you will only need an 8mm and 10 mm socket. I'm planning an adjustment in mine as soon as I get some spare time. You might want to put a drain bolt in there while you're at it. Comes in handy if you you end up tweaking it more often than you planned.
yeah definatly gonna be doing that. Do you have any idea wich trans cooler line if the outlet from the trans? I'm going to be installing my trans temp gauge as well.
