Glow plugs
I have done some reading and decided that my glow plugs need to be replaced. But in my reading some where it said not to use Autolite plugs. My question is are these plugs bad, should I use another brand? The guy at the parts store said that Autolite made the plugs for Ford, and that these were as good as getting them from Ford.

You can get motorcraft ZD-11s from some of the members on this forum. Someone bought up 17 sets when autozone discontunied them. I can't remember who it was though they were selling entire set for 10 bucks I believe.

They say not to use the autolites.Sometimes the probe or shaft separate from the body and get stuck in the head.As you can imagine that can cause all kinds of problems.Ive been told to use motorcraft or Bosch only.I use Bosch and am happy with them.I do believe the motorcraft # is ZD-11.

BERU is the manufacturer of the OE glow plugs, btw, not autolite

Bosch is a great product and I use this web site for parts often, cheap and free shipping! But they only list them for and Excursion 7.3 and no Super Duty. Is, or was, there any differance in the Glow Plugs?

do a search. We should have a fairly large sized post about this place. And what we went through. I can't find it but it takes way to long on dial up. I think it started out with the title of "cheap exhuast" and everyone was ordering including myself. The would charge the card and realize either the price was way way way too cheap and cancel the order. After the charge was on for a few days. Or they were just looking for how many people would be interested in buying them. Either way i'm still pissed off at them.
And i will never buy from them again, or even try to buy from them again.
