Hello I am starting a new project on my old 1980 f150 ford 302 moter 4x4.
Right now it won't start.
I think I must be missing something easy. here's what Ive done.
Cleaned the carb of dust inside.
Manually turned the crank hard but not that hard.
cleaned and re-gaped the plugs.
Checked for spark.
Primed the carb when trying to start.
the engine turns but I think that it is dragging a bit not sure but it wears the battery down in a hurry.
I would welcome any advice.
Thanks
Randy
Also check that pesky ignition box on the passenger side fender (I think). I am not sure the proper way of testing these ignition boxes but there is a good chance that is the reason for the no start. Pull a plug wire insert a plug and check for spark. Could possibly be a timing issue also. i don't think it is fuel since it wont fire even when the carb is primed.
