i just picked up a 79 f150 that is in need of a lift..i am looking for a set of 9 inch lift coils but would prolly settle for a set of 6 inch..if anyone has a set laying around that they would consider selling let me know..thanks..
What do you need these coils for, they actually are fairly cheap for a new pair. Like under $180.
If you are planning on doing a 6 to 9inch lift you are going to need more than just coil springs. You need to figure in drop brackets, new shocks, hardware and such. You will prababley just be better off with buying a kit.
its just gonna be a mud truck..i was gonna look around for a used set before i bought new ones, i dont want to put alot of money in the truck if i dont have to..where can they be bought new for that price?
im gonna be running 38s..i just bought the truck and it dont have a motor..it had a 351m but i dont know if im going back with that or not..i have 460 on the brain
Sounds like your not sure what it takes to make a mud truck.
You will spend no less than $500 on a 6" lift, and that is doing it right, and finding deals. I bought a few used things and got everything at the best price I could for $600 + shocks.
Then your truck will be a dog without regearing, and without a locker, you won't be doing great in the mud.
i know exactly what is involved with making a mud truck, this isnt my first..im aware of having to regear and do all those things..i simply made this thread looking for a set of coil springs
well this thread has went downhill fast, whoever has the the power to do so go ahead and delete it..i guess people with a low post count arent welcome here
Never said anything about not being welcome, just saying there is a lot more involved in a lift that coils alone, and used coils don't save you much.
You get some old saged coil springs.... not something to sought after.
I know most people in here, and most don't have 9" coil springs lying around. Some stock springs maybe..... I have some stock springs, but that won't help you.
Do you know everything you need for a 6" lift? IF not, ask, and I'm sure people will be glad to help you including me.(I have a similar truck, and did a 6" lift myself).
Just for future instance..... IF you post all the info on your truck possible in the original post, then it will make things faster for people to help you, or you could fill out the sig below your name with the info on your truck.
Its not that the low posts is hindering you. Its people making posts that dont provide enough knowledge for us to help and are rather confusing.
I will be more than happy to help anyone who posts within limit of my knowledge.
But to say that this thread has gone down hill is rather offensive to both me and other knowledgeable people in this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just said this thread has gone downhill not the forum..i get on here at least once a day just incase i might be able to help someone or learn something new..infact this is the only section i look at..im not looking to build a truck that is gonna get someone hurt,im gonna use all the right parts i just havent located any coils yet, i have alot of friends that play with fords and have located droped radius arm brackets,an adjustable trac bar, and c bushings. i just didnt want to have to buy an entire kit just for the springs..i appoligize if i came across as a *****
