The stupid P0401 code junk- AGAIN...
Seven months ago I had some issues with this code (even put some posts in here and got some good info.
I replaced the egr valve first- then broke it down and cleaned the egr passages (they were plugged solid) and everything has been fine....but
Over the past few months, I have had a misfire on plug#2 come up a couple of times, but it doesn't "miss" all the time, so I'd disconnect the battery to clear the code and it's be fine. Well I did that the other day...and a few minutes of running and the lite popped back on.
And dang it, the stupid P0401 code is back. I do not get it.
The valve is only 7 months old.
The passages were clened 7 months ago.
What is left?
OR
Do "old codes" sometimes remain in the loop to all of a sudden pop up?
There were no codes in it in Dec, 'cause I went thru local vehicle inspection and all was well.
Before I shoot this thing...any ideas?

Did you replace the DPFE sensor also? Old codes wouldn't remain in the computer if take the power away or when you clear codes with a programer.
