I was browsing around this morning and I saw that alot of other chapters have a B/S Thread. I think this might be a good way to get some of the non posting Kansas members to post. So what do you think? Also it would be a good way to just B/S with one another.

See the thang is some Chapter Leaders put a lot of weight in post pre thread count.
I think that's cause they can't beat the KS chapter in posts so it gives um something if they have more PPT than we do. Don't make a difference to me as we have Post of the Month prize not Thread of the Month. And I don't care as long as folks post. The Yum Yum thread has done well.
I say go for it. If it'll get more folks to post then I'm for it. But if ya still want to please start another thread if you have something to say.

I truely believe that there will be other theads started with topics that aren't day to day "how was your day" conversation. I truely think this will get more people active. I didn't even have the post count competition in mind when I posted this. Just thought it would be something fun. If I do post this I think it should be exempt from the POTM prize as far as a thread (not the posts it contains as some prizes are awarded for a thread).

Like I said I think it's a good idea and we should go for it if folks say so. And I voted yes. I was just tryin to let folks know the why fors is all.
As far as the POTM prize, welllllll doggies, now never had someone turn down a nomination afore it happened(ceptin me). And I don't think folks would let me accept one in a case like this anyway. Now we have had POTM winners, in the past, donate the prize to the chapter fund.
Seems to me this would be a good thread to nominate. Anyone who sets down and takes the time to do something for the chapter should be in the runnin.

No. Thats not it at all. I understand that folks might post more if they don't have to start a new thread. Now some chapters have high PPT count and don't have a BS thread. They would say they have more interesting or higher quallity threads. And I would say my folks in the KS chapter know how start threads. Just a friendly little difference. And other Chapter Leaders are just trying what ever they can to get folks to post.
Now I have had to decide stuff before. And it seems to me ya can't please everyone. But folks need to understand that someone has to do the decidin. Matt's just lettin you know that there has been some abuse of this. And it may be decided by others that all of these threads will be deleted.
I still say to run your poll for however long you want and if folks want to do it then go for it. If it turns out that these threads are removed then thats just how stuff goes. If folks want to do this then great. If for some reason it don't work out then we'll just have to think of other stuff.

yea what he said. i have no problems with them, but they are more apt to have rule breakers in them. and its also hard for moderators to read all the posts. i generally read every other 3 posts, then moderate where needed

I like the idea, the yum yum thread has the same effect. I can see where it could get to a pointless stage but sometimes you just gotta have faith in the members of the chapter to do the right thing.
