4WD Question

Today in Poughkeepsie,NY 12601 we got about 10" of snow so i want from age 17 - 5 which lead to a tow truck pulling me out of a 10ft tall snow pile 30mins later but that lead to this problem, when i shifted from 4Hi - 4Lo (to try at snow pile again) it sounded like shifting from 1st-2nd without using the clutch any ideas what my genius shelf did to make this happen.

When i shifted from 4Hi into 4Lo it made the sound a manual transmission makes if you shifted gears without using the clutch.

u have to stop to shift from 4h to 4l and put trans in neutreal

I was stopped an in neutral.

Ahhh ok with the t-case in neutral there is nothing stopping the tranny from turning with the motor.

Found out what the problem was, the the shifter linkage needed to be adjusted, my buddy john guest the lever moved into 4Lo but the transfer case shifted between N & 4Lo so when i shifted into drive the transfer case wasn't fully engaged leading to that wonderful noise.

Now thats got to suck, worst i did was the hood release handle last tuesday when i changed the oil.

Those are loads of fun even better when your miss that one wrench size, your floor jack only goes to 20" not 24", an everybody needs your help with something.
