Air Bag Light

Hey guys got another ranger question for my brother. He has a 01 Ranger 4x4 with the 3.0l His air bag light is on and the code is B1877 Seat belt pretensioner open circuit. Is this a common code and if so is it jut the tensioner or something else. The truck has never been wrecked, just a daily driver.

Check to see if connectors come loose or diconnect ( under the driver or passenger seat)

Yup, its a common code, and as was suggested its usually bad connections in the area of the seat.

Thanks again, He lives in TN and I LIve in NY so I am trying to talk him through what to do. Anyways thanks again for the reply's. I am happy to here that he will not have to buy an expensive pretensioner...hopefully.
